December Newsletter

Updated: Dec 11, 2023

Welcome to the December Newsletter!

It’s hard to believe another year has passed by so quickly! But here we are in December. As a long-time Michigan resident, I can tell you that the weather is much more moderate than it used to be in terms of the temperatures and the amount of snow. That said, we still have plenty of cold weather to look forward to over the next few months; snow is less predictable.

I’m excited about our next International Neighbors Day because it’s a cookie exchange. Each person who wants to participate brings a dozen cookies to share with others and gets to pick a dozen cookies to take home. Imagine – cookies from all over the world! It’s Thursday, December 21, 1:00 pm at Zion Lutheran Church, 1501 W. Liberty, Ann Arbor. Don’t miss it!

To get you in the mood for IN day, several of our members have submitted recipes. Find them in Dessert Recipes.

Our new pop-up events will provide an exciting new opportunity to get together for different activities throughout the year. The first one was held recently; read about it in Mistletoe Market.

We had a great time at the November IN Day. Each year, our usual potluck is enhanced by the addition of turkey with all the trimmings in November. It was a great day! Read about it in In Case You Missed it: November IN Day – Fall Harvest Potluck.

Enjoy the season, whatever it is you celebrate. And Happy New Year!

Phyllis
