IN Day Committee

By Mojgan

Persian New Year

Our IN Day Committee continues to be a cohesive group that gets along well, and enjoys planning events over delicious lunches at our members’ homes on the first Monday of the month.  This year we planned monthly events for the membership at large: the Halloween Event in October; the Thanksgiving Feast in November; the Cookie Exchange in December; the Craft event in January; Persian New Year presentation in March; and lastly Fashion show in April.   We also helped the board  with the Open house in September and winter Welcome in February.

We had new members to our group this year: Keiko and Nori from Japan, and Anna from Mexico; they have been wonderful additions. Unfortunately, some of our old members left us due to moving home to their country or working full time.

With the help of the zero waste committee, we were able to change our supplies to durable and reusable plastic instead of paper plates, reusable silverware, metal cold beverage cups, ceramic hot beverage cups and cloth instead of paper napkins.

January Craft event

We are planning to have a couple cultural events from different countries next year, which we will submit to the board by the beginning of summer.

Currently, we are looking for new members to help plan, and we hope to serve international neighbors even better in 2024-2025. We will continue to meet once each month over the summer to enjoy each other and exchange ideas for next year.
