Remembering Carolyn Schultz

By Veena as told to Phyllis

Carolyn at her 89th birthday party

Carolyn Schultz passed away on September 10, 2023. She was a long-time member of the Ann Arbor Woods Tea Group and served as chair of the group. She was known as a generous hostess and leader. Veena specifically recalls a tea group meeting where attendees carved pumpkins; Carolyn made sure everyone had a pumpkin they could take home. Carolyn survived and fully recovered from a brain tumor about 6 years ago. She lived in Ann Arbor for many years, but as her health declined her son moved her to Rose Arbor Place in Kalamazoo, where he lived, so he could see and care for her more often. In April of this year, several IN members helped Carolyn celebrate her 89th birthday; the featured pictures were taken at the party.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life was held at the First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor on September 30, 2023. Carolyn was interred in the church's memorial garden.
